Overview
Tychon (pronounced tee-con) app is a virtual product placement platform connecting brands and influencers to collaborate.
Our MVP focused on creating a virtual product placement experience to eliminate the product transaction between brands and influencers. We created an end-to-end experience for influencers to submit their campaigns, track their earnings, and understand user engagement on their posts. We launched our MVP on May 15th.
For V1, we are building out the campaign and chat experience.
People Problem Statement
As a new influencer, I find myself not knowing how to connect with brands and build a bigger following. Because I’m new to this, it makes me question whether or not I’ll be successful as an influencer. I want a product that helps me build relationships with brands, find campaigns to be a part of, and keep track of my earnings.
Brand Style Guide
I created a brand style guide to help define colors, stock photography, typography, and iconography. I’m in the process of creating a design system and library for all tychon design components.
Brainstorming
For V1, I looked at our MVP experience and identified opportunities to further address our key people problems. I ran a brainstorming session with these 3 “How might we” statements:
How might we create an experience where a user can share their content online for money?
How might we advertise users who are just starting off as an influencer?
How might we establish brand and influencer relationships?

After identifying a set of new features for V1, I started to sketch out the experience.

Login & Signup
We made a conscious effort as a team to encourage users to create an account. We knew this was an added friction point but needed a safe space for users to share personal info, a place for users to interface with brands, and a trusted space to deal with their financial earnings.
Home
Our influencers can complete their campaigns with the virtual product placement experience while keeping track of their earnings and engagement.
Campaigns & Chats
New influencers struggle to find brands who want to work with them. With the new “Campaigns” feature, influencers can apply for ongoing campaigns different brands have launched. With the addition of the new “Chat” interface, influencers can message brands directly to build relationships.
